Katelyn Reed – Ngati Porou

Katelyn is of Ngati Porou decent.

Katelyn Reed grew up in the Waitakere Ranges, started circus through The Dust Palace scholarship program, and then furthered her training full time at Whitireia Circus Program, gaining her Bachelor In Applied Arts. Katelyn specialises in Corde Lisse, and also trains Hand-balance, Contortion, Floor acrobatics and Juggling.   

 

Her performative experience began in high school when she she got the opportunity to dance alongside Atamira Dance Company in Ruaumoko at Auckland’s Civic theatre, as part of the Auckland’s Art Festival, she also was part of choreographer Moss Patterson’s APO project, and has had the opportunity to perform in many shows and festivals including World of Wearable Arts and Cuba Dupa. Most recently Katelyn produced, directed and performed in her own new work that was part of Wellington’s Fringe festival.
